Kellie Postema was recently named a Leading Lawyer in the area of Social Security Disability law by Leading Lawyer Magazine 2017. Leading Lawyers are nominated by their peers as the top lawyers in their area of practice and less than 5% of all lawyers licensed in the State of Michigan receive the distinction of
Leading Lawyer.

Kellie Postema graduated with honors from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in both Political Science and Philosophy in 1990. She earned a spot on WMU’s Dean’s List from 1987 through 1990 as well as a spot on the National Dean’s List in 1988 and 1989.

Kellie attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School at night in Lansing while working full-time during the day. While attending law school, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Advocacy, Employment Discrimination as well as Jurisdictions and Venue.

She also earned the Certificate of Merit Award in Computer Assisted Legal Research. Kellie was named on both Cooley’s Dean’s List and Honor Roll from 1990 through 1993. In 1993, she was noted in the publication “Who’s Who Among American Law Students”. Kellie graduated Cum Laude with her Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in January, 1994.

Kellie joined the firm in 1995 and has focused her practice exclusively on Social Security Disability law. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR), the Social Security section of the Michigan State Bar Association as well as the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Kellie assists individuals with the application process through the Social Security Administration (SSA) and handles appeals through the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) as well as the Appeals Council (AC). In 2013, 2014 and 2015, Kellie was recognized with the Client Distinction Award. The award is an honor given to attorneys based upon client reviews and ratings in the area of responsiveness, communication and quality of service.
